What are the best Nike shoes for running with lower back pain?

September 5th, 2009 by admin

I have lower back pain but I want to run. What Nike model should I buy which is better to avoid lower back pain?

Don’t buy nike running shoes!!

Go to a store that specializes in running shoes and they will help you out with what kind of shoe is best for your type of foot.
Each person is different but Asics have never steered me wrong. neither have new balance. Mizuno are pretty good as well as Saucony(sp?)

Why do I have lower back pain when pregnant?

September 2nd, 2009 by admin

Whenever I get pregnant my lower back immediately hurts only 3 to 4 weeks into my pregnancy. Its so painful as if I’ve slipped a disc! It just suddenly becomes painful randomly, from no injury. The pain lasts about a month and I can barely walk! Laying down at night is agony until my back settles into place. Don’t want to take pain killers because of the baby. Anyone else heard of this or know why it happens to me?

Back pain can come from your size, the number of pregnancies you’ve had and how you sleep. I got sciatic nerve pain very early on, but found that it came from the way I was sleeping. It was making the uterus put pressure on the sciatic nerve. Try putting a heating pad on it for a few hours and then make sure you sleep comfortably with a pillow between your legs. It helps me to sleep with my legs straight too. I sleep in my side with the pillow with my legs straight and I haven’t had as many problems.

Leg Stretching Tutorial for high section kicks

September 2nd, 2009 by admin

Brought to you by http://martialphoto.net

Have you ever wondered how all those people kick so high yet so easily? How did they stretch?

Now i’ll share some of my stretching routine that will surely helps to improve your flexibility. It will take some time before you can do high kicks easily, but it will come :)

The stretch routine on the video will affect:
1. Standing one legged stretch while maintaining balance. Back, side, and front. They will stretch the thigh and groin area.
2. Stretch the lower thigh, knees, and your back.
3. Stretch the lower back and groin area. don’t wanna hurt it in any case :p
4. The toes backward to enhance your ball-of-foot kicking, and leaning back to stretch the abs muscle and thigh muscles.
5. Front thigh muscles and side thigh muscles, the more you lean forward, the more you will stretch it.
6. The world famous split! pinnacle of stretching (not really :p) it will help u to do any kicks and lower your injury rate. make sure you feel the pain while doing this stretch. Push your hips forward and open your leg as wide as you can.
7. The more you lean forward in that position, the more your lower back and lower thigh muscle will stretch. really helpful for downward kick, rising kicks. and of course all other kicks too.
8. This stretch will help you do twisting kicks as it really stretches the groin area.
9. You need higher side kick and turning kick? focus on this stretch!
10. Just kick out your foot slowly, don’t force it, this is also part of stretching.

Things to remember!
1. Hold the stretch at least 30 second
2. Keep the back straight
3. Keep breathing
4. Do it regularly
5. Woman will find stretching easier than man because of their physiological structure, but with regular practice, man can also do that.
6. You don’t need the hundreds dollars stretching equipments in the gym, although it does helps to stretch.
7. Doing it with a partner is always better, and less boring :p

Alright, have fun!

What are some ways to relieve lower back pain?

August 30th, 2009 by admin

Any good stretches or sleeping positions?? I’m not looking for medicines, just things I can do to relieve the pain. I don’t know why, but my lower back is extremely sore and uncomfortable. Any thoughts?

Some people sleep on their back, and put a pillow under your knees. personally i think sleeping on your side would feel better, and put a pillow between your knees.

Also, heat should be soothing–use a heating pad, or hot water bottle. They sell thermacare wraps in stores, which you peel off the strip and stick it on your lower back. They warm up and stay warm for up to 8 hours, which is nice to be able to have on at work/school.
Although you do not want medicines–if the pain is muscular (which it probably is), ibuprofen is an antiinflammatory, and will help.
best wishes

What can I do for constant excruciating lower back pain?

August 27th, 2009 by admin

I have had a terrible ache in my lower right side of my back and my hip. It sometimes shoots down to my leg. I can’t walk, lay down, sit or stand, without having these shooting pains. I can’t do simple everyday tasks. I have had the pain for 4 days now and it only seems to be getting worse. If anyone knows what this is please let me know. (I am going to go to the emergency room shortly)
I had a baby 6 months ago, my 3rd.

go to the emergency room but i think that your age, and health factors are causing it. I think its arthritis caused by a stiff back, weak core and lack of daily exercise. If the docs give you meds, take them but start doing ab exercise and lower back exercises daily. For example, do 2-3 sets of 15-20 situps, then crunches, then russian twists, and finally back extensions..doing this will relieve the pain, and cause your core to be stronger, which will relieve the pain and if you constantly do it 5-6 days a week should leave. But it also might be a sciatic nerve or problem with a nerve pressing on your muscle and its causing extreme pain..but do the exercises, they will relieve the pain..
