I have a terrible pain in my upper back since yesterday. It feels like I strained a muscle. I didn’t do anything strenuous. It just came on me all of a sudden. I can’t lie comfortably and when I laugh it hurts. Any suggestions what this might be? I got sunburn on my face yesterday as well but don’t know if that has anything to do with it.
It still sounds musculoskeletal despite the lack of strenuous involvement (as activity worsens the pain). Try OTC pain relief like Advil 800mg q8hrs as needed. Stretching exercises and ice will also help. Obviously abstain from any hard activities or exercise. If it still hurts after a week and is not improving see your GP and consider physical therapy or further imaging studies depending on your history and background, age, etc.

For the last 3 days I have been experiencing chest pain and upper back pain. At times it also has been radiating under my arms. Part of the time it is very dull, and others it is stabbing. And then there are times where I have not pain at all.
I’m 22. I have had a cold recently. A little cough, but that has gotten better over the last few days.
Any suggestions or answers would be greatly appreciated.
I am not a doctor, but my husband was having pain in his chest, and back. He thought he was having a heart attack. He had recently had a cold also. We went to the e.r., and after a chest x-ray, they told us he had pleurisy. It is mucus, or fluid around your lung causing pain. The doctor explained it to us like this. He said it was like pneumonia, only instead of being inside the lung, it’s outside the lung. I suggest you get to a doctor, and find out what is wrong. Normally it isn’t your heart if the pain comes and goes, but you never know.

I have a bed that is not the Tempur-pedic brand, but it’s made of the same material. Every morning I wake up with upper-back pain due to lack of support. Should I get a better bed? What brand would you recommend? A sleep-number?
Yes, my pillow is rather flat.
I had this exact same problem and I found that it was because of my pillow. I would sleep with two pillows and it was causing me to be arched upwards while I slept, hence the reason for back pain. I suggest trying the Tempur-pedic brand pillow. It’s the only one I sleep with now and it works great, plus it’s much more comfortable.

Patient has had sinus congestion and post nasal trip resulting from infection. He could not breathe through his left nostril and barely through the right one. In addition, due to post nasal drip, he has to constantly spit out ropes of mucous. He was initially scheduled for sinus surgery 10 years ago, but after the NBE treatment, he had no sinus problems and cancelled the surgery. In the past ten years, he has noticed sustained health with the NBE treatment. Any time he feels a cold or flu coming on, he receives one NBE treatment, and the symptoms disappear.
